Herschel Sterling is building his media presence without the use of Youtube or any of the social media giants. He states that those outlets have the right to remove any info they would like, of course, but the position of doing it from a place of morality has to stop. "There are people on these platforms who are merely speaking from a position of experience and, and they are being removed and demonetized. Simultaneously, you'll find long-debunked corporate news whoppers and also flat-earth theory in everyone's faces all day long.
That YouTube and Panic-Trauma social media companies should be the arbiters of legitimate information is a repugnant notion. They remove things based on economic motives. They should be honest about that. Sterling thinks YouTube should be honest and say they are going to run their AI on all incoming files and that they will remove what they want to remove. In doing so, Sterling argues, they can accept more business because they will have absolved themselves of pretense, and that will alleviate people from the gamble of the distribution service disrespecting their experiences.
"If YouTube would be honest about their loyalties, I could do business with them. But since there are so many free-speech outlets out here to use in their place, it won't be an objective loss. It might take me longer, but I'll have a solid core of listeners, and they'll be more intelligent, including emotional intelligence."
